Sigandhoor


Sigandur Sri Chowdeshwari Temple, Sagar

Sigandhoor is a small village of Sagara, Karnataka, India. The village is surrounded by the Sharavathi River. The main attraction of Siganduru is Chowdeshwari Temple

Sgandooru is a holy place of Goddess Chaudeshwari. A large temple of Goddess Chaudeshwari is situated here. Sigandur is a small village surrounded by green and backwaters of River Sharavathi in Sagar Taluk of Karnataka state. This Goddess is a highly believed deity in Sagar and the surrounding taluks as a protector against theft and robbery. Coupons for entry will be distributed on first come first serve basis.

 Shri choudamma devi has strength to proceed the fear of thiefs. The devotees who carry on benedicts will live happily without any fear of thiefs. If their any thieft taken place in the home of these devotees devi punished them.
    Other than Sigandur kshethra no other kshethra has this speciality. Protection from thiefs not only to themselves but also to their gardens, land, buildings, things etc… by putting the board “Shri Deviya Rakshane Ide”. By unknowingly if the thief stolen something from the place where the board is kept thief will definetly face several problems & kep back the things in the same place, is the trust of peoples.

Sigandur is about 40 km from its taluk headquarters, Sagara city. Sigandur was cut off from Sagar once reservoir on Sharavathi River was constructed. 2 barges provide connectivity across the water.Barge service stops at 5 PM every day.

Sigandur is connected by road on the other side, which can be reached via Sidhapura or Kollur, so with proper planning you can visit kollur and surrounding attractions also.

Holebagilu

Holebaglu is a lovely place we get while going to Sigandoor Chowdeswari Temple. It means river gate. We need to cross the huge, long back water of Sharavathi through the barge. It is surrounded by thick, dense forest. It is mesmerizing to travel by barge in the vast back water with so many islands created by it.

Holebagillu is located at a distance of 30 Km from Sagar and it is surrounded by the thick and dense forest. Holebagilu is a place of natural beauty and it is situated in Kolur Grama Panchayat Limits.
