Tadadi (Tadari)is one of the ports in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, India. It is near Gokarna in Kumta taluk.Thadadi(Tadhadi) is known for its agriculture & Fishing and has produced many engineers, scientists, doctors, educationists who have made significant contributions to the country's economy and growth.


Thadadi is a coastal site in Karnataka that overlooks the picturesque Western Ghats. The only free-flowing river of the Western Ghats, Aghanashini, empties itself into the Arabian Sea here, creating an incredible 1800 hectares of estuary in the process. Over 26 mangrove species offer perfect habitat for some 100 species of fish and other aquatic life. Trade in mollusks is done here. Salt production is an ancillary economic activity on which 800 families directly depend.The Tadadi village has a fishing harbour and a fish processing plant which was set up by a team of experts from Denmark. Many fishing communities thrive on the marine life that abounds in the region. While the men bring home the catch, the women slice the fish and marinate it with salt. The hills, the river, the colourful boats and the fish processing activities make a visit to Tadadi interesting if you can tolerate the strong odour.

Bada Beach

Baada Beach, one of the cleanest beaches of the region, is suggested to tourists to visit during their trip to Kumta. While enjoying a beach trek from Kirki to Gokarna, tourists may choose to visit this Baada Beach if they have time at hand.This beach has some rocks in the middle and is surrounded by hills on two sides. Here you can enjoy activities like Swimming,Beach Cycling, collect sea shells,fishing.

Holanagadde

Holanagadde - A small village in Kumta Taluk of Uttara Kannada district. It falls on the west coast beach of Arabian sea.  Holanagadde has prestine beach that is not spoilt by tourists.This beach has some rocks in the middle and is surrounded by hills on two sides. Here you can enjoy activities like Swimming,Beach Cycling, collect sea shells,fishing.



Gerusoppa, Nagarabastikere

This place is situatedin Uttara Kannada District.Situated on bank of river Sharavati the old town of Gerusoppa also called Nagar Bastikeri is rich with historical monuments, the Chaturmukha basti(basadi) being the most prominent one. It is a beautiful structure built in Vijayanagar style with Chaturasara plan. It has four entrances from four directions leading to garbhagrihas. There are four images of Tirthankaras, Vrishabha, Ajita, Sambhava and Abhinandan, seated in padmasana. One of this has been of late damaged. The engravings in this basti of dwarapalas and other mural desigtns are well executed with refinement.

Colonel Piller/ Colonel Hill

Colonel Hill is an place of interest in Honnavar. It is a 30-meter tall column on the top of a hillock by the side of N-H 17. This column was installed in memory of Colonel Hill on 20 January 1845. It was set up by the 14th Madras Native Infantry at the instance of the East India Company in honour of Col. Hill who died at Gersoppa while commanding the Mysore Division.



St. Francis Xavier Church, Chandavar.

Chandavar once a big city, is said to have been built by a Muslim King Sarpan Malik (apparently Sherif-ul-Mulk   a General of Bijapur Kingdom). The city declined during the later part of 17th century. St. Francis Xavier Church is a large  Roman Catholic Church is held in great veneration by local populace of all communities. The original church of St. Francis Xavier is recorded to have been built in 1678 during the reign of Basappa Nayak of Keladi Nayak dynasty. The church was destroyed in the end of 18th century which is attributed to Tippu Sultan, and was rebuilt in 1801. The church was rebuilt a second time in 1874. The old church, though an imposing edifice was judged to be beyond  normal repairs, and so a new church was built in the area adjacent to the old church.

Kudle beach

Kudle Beach is one of the four beaches south of the small town of Gokarna, on the western coast of India, in the Uttara Kannada district of the Karnataka state.The five beaches in Gokarna are the Gokarna beach, Kudle, Om, Half moon and Paradise (also known as Full moon). The Gokarna beach forms the coast of the town while the other four beaches lies towards the south of Gokarna. Kudle and Om beach are around 6 km from Gokarna town along a muddy hill; they are accessible by rickshaw or foot. Kudle beach has simple accommodation featuring small huts and cafes during the tourist season.


Higund Island


 Haigund is a beautiful island in River Sharavati just before it joins the Arabian Sea. 3 kms from Honnavar – Bangalore National Highway brings you along this island. Presently the approach is from either Adkar village or Kodani village through country boat. The sunset view from this island is a lifetime experience







Honnavar Light House


Honnavar Light House is located near by 0.2km from Honnavar Taluk or it's very close to Honnavar Taluk
