Kurumgad Island / Beach
Kurumgad Island is a tortoise shaped Island and is located about 4
km away from Karwar.Kurumgad Beach is very popular for the Narasimha temple,
which becomes a major attraction for religious thousands of devotees who visit
the temple at the time of the annual fair, which takes place during the Pushya
Purnima in January.
Approach to Kumaragarh Island is mainly by boat from Sadhashivgad
jetty on the backwaters of River Kali at Karwar. Kurumgad Island is just 1 km
away from Devbagh Beach, Karwar.

1.Devbagh Islands

A visit to Karwar is not complete without visiting its most
popular island Devbagh. The island is unique being surrounded by woods of
casuarinas consisting of mangrove trees. The name “Devbagh”, means – garden of
the gods, which is a very appropriate name for this island. There are lots of
activities in Devbagh beach, dolphin watch and major water sports activities
and so much to explore in Devbagh which has interesting fauna and flora. The
island is a Jungle Lodges Resort island.
2.Sanyasi Island
It is believed that in ancient times, a Sanyasi did penance in
this island and lived isolated from humanity and lived till a ripe old age.
3.Oyster-rock Island
This island also known as Devgad Island having interesting rocks
giving its name. A old lighthouse built during the British period is an
attraction here. Oyster Rocks are the group of islands and rocks- Devad gudda
is the main summit on which the Lighthouse is situated. The hill has very good
forest growth around lighthouse. The landing at Devad gudda island (Oyster
Rock) is on the eastern side.
4.Anjadiv Island
The Anjadiv Island is located a mile away from Binaga village. It
is named after goddness Anji Devi who is worshipped on this island. It has an
area of 1.5 sq km, and it is the fifth island off the coast of Karwar.The
island has some remains of the bygone Portuguese era, some old houses and
Chruch ruins.The island is also known as Anjadiva or Anjediva island
