Sahasralinga is a pilgrim place located at a distance of 17 km from Sirsi in Uttara kannada district.There are thousands of the stones with Shiva Linga carved on them by the side or river 'Shalmala'. Because these uncountable carvings, the place gets the name "Sahasra Linga" (thousand lingas). History says all these shiva lingas were built by Sadashivaraya,king of Sirsi (1678-1718).
Every year on the day of 'Shivaratri' hundreds of people visit this place to worship Lord Shiva. When the water level is not high enough you can actually see all those carvings. Best time would winter and early summer.

Note: No foods available nearby sahasralinga,do not forget to carry  foods.
